DTC SEZ – Germany
Description: Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ) was founded in March 1990 as the operational unit of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Economics. SEZ’s core activity is to promote European RTD programmes and to support cross-border technology transfer. SEZ is involved in the Steinbeis transfer network with more than 850 Steinbeis Enterprises in Baden-Württemberg and beyond and in the Enterprise Europe Network with close to 600 organizations in over 50 countries. SEZ is Contact Point for SMEs in Baden-Württemberg, acting at the same time as EU-Contact Point for Universities in Baden-Württemberg. SEZ has initiated the setting up of the first DTCs as a project based initiative funded by Baden-Wurttemberg government in the framework of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.

DTC Cluj-Napoca (Cluj, Craiova, Sibiu) – Romania
Description: Started in 2012, DTC Cluj-Napoca is one of the first pilot centers of the DTC Network. The Centre is hosted by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca but, organizationally, it functions as an open regional network of offices established in 6 universities and research institutions from the Northern and Western parts of Romania that share their mission and strategic coordination, but are independent entities, integrated with their host organizations. Clusters, regional governing bodies and development agencies, as well as important companies and SMEs are completing this regional eco-system having as aim to foster the transnational knowledge cooperation and technology transfer.

DTC Bucharest – Romania

Description: The Center for Technological Transfer – CTT “POLITECH”, from UPB, acting as a Danube Transfer Center from 2013, is very active, like an interface between the scientific community of UPB and the economic environment. CTT “POLITECH” is also an Enterprise Europe Network partner, for storing the link between the academic and socio-economic environment, at international level, and has a representative delegate in the “EU IPR Helpdesk Ambassadors Team”. CTT “POLITECH” follows the competitiveness growth of Romanian economy, on average and long term, the development and the efficient use of the human capital potential, especially oriented to a more efficient valorization of intellectual property assets, in the benefit of Romanian innovative SME’s. Thus, the mission of CTT “POLITECH” is to develop cooperation capacities, through technological / knowledge transfer mechanisms, in the frame of an inter-universities network, destined to increase the valorization of intellectual property assets, in close collaboration with innovative SME’s, helping them to internationalize their activities at European level and / or in a global market, in the frame of the new concept of “open innovation”.
